East Region Shines in National Non-Speed Competition
Over the past 12 years of attending NCCC National meetings, I have never seen so many East Region members ranked in the top 15 for non-speed events. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a clear sign that our region has the opportunity to shine on the National stage.
To continue this success, it will take all clubs within the East Region working together to provide opportunities for our points chasers. Individual and club points can only be earned through National / Regional Sanctioned events. Without a National/ Regional Sanction, no points are awarded—whether to the host club or to participants. Remember:
- Non-Sanctioned (ER-000-N01): The event is posted, waivers must be signed and retained, but no points are awarded.
- Regional Sanction (ER-000-R01): Points are reported only within the East Region; nothing counts toward National placement. Waivers must be signed.
- National Sanction: Both host club and participants earn National points, competing against other members across the country. Waivers must be signed.
Members who wish to be competitive should also look at what other regions are offering. Non-speed events foster competition between regions, create enthusiasm, encourage friendships, and support clubs financially by attracting more participants.
Did you know you can hold three days of events and earn 21 sanctions over a holiday weekend? For example, look at the MI-642 Turkey Funkhana Weekend—a 21-sanction weekend! Events like these can shift the standings and challenge our top contenders.
I encourage everyone to check out the NCCC National Events Calendar and think strategically about sanctioning. Together, we can keep East Region at the top of the National non-speed competition.
KEEP IN MIND, ONLY NATIONAL POINTS COUNT TOWARD NATIONAL AWARDS!
