At the Governor’s meeting held on Saturday March 8, 2008 we heard from two representatives from Cruises Inc. They presented a fun and exciting way in which the East Region could approach a fund raiser and potentially earn a significant amount of funds for use in the East Region. Our own George Kerns, of the NVCC was one of the presenters from Cruises Inc. His understanding of our financial needs and how the clubs can work together to make this fundraiser a reality is very helpful to us. George and his partner, Dana Last, pulled together a comprehensive package for a 2009 Eastern Caribbean cruise that paves the way for the fund raiser. The board of Governors approved the fund raiser and requested of George and Dana to make the information available to all clubs in the East Region.
The details for the cruise-fundraiser are attached for your review. Please know that the cruise offer is not only for all club members but also for family and friends to attend.
We ask that you begin the process by sending out the information they have provided by way of emails, club web sites and club meetings. For the Region to achieve maximum benefit it is important to pay attention to the details provided and to do your best to have folks in your club make a commitment to this fundraiser as soon as possible. The cabins on board the ship have been blocked for us for 30 days as we work to get the word out and get information back to George and Dana about who will participate.
